Hello All,
My sangha contains many faiths. I try to be respectful of each. Personally,
I celebrate Rohastu.
While I try to be respectful of Christmas, I confess it is a bit of a bother.
The streets and stores are crowded, people are pregnent with goodwill, but they
seem to miscarry just after the new year, and I tire of the everpresent muzak
carols and sales pitches.
I would like, in my perfect world, to see Christmas as a private, religious
holiday, rather than a secular "event." It does from a Christian POV, mark
(though incorrectly) the birth of God's son. I would like to see Wal-Mart and
K-Mart and Sears and all of the other boxes, big and little, out of that
picture altogether. But it is not my holiday and so it is not mine to cherish,.
resurrect, save, or whatever.
I do wish Christians would sort of keep it to themselves and not blather on
so about it. A bit annoying, really.
