Hi Guys

Just to keep you up to date after one month of running Zen Load
Balancer (ZLB), first RC4 then RC5, this is how things stand for me.

I am using 2 clustered ZLB boxes running under VMWare, 4.1 to front a
number of internal production services: 5 Farm definitions managing my
Citrix application deployment (PNAgent), Citrix Web interface (XenApp),
our company CRM & internal SMTP delivery

Outstanding Issues (RC4 / RC5):
1. RC5 - If you choose ‘Round Robin Persistent’ connection when you
create a farm, and then go and edit farm later, this option is not
available. You only see Default, RoundRobin, Hash, Weight & Priority?

2. RC4 - The 'weight' and ‘priority’ options do not appear to have any
effect on how traffic is allocated. I have tried setting my two SMTP
servers to extremes in order to see what happens – one set to 1 the
other to 100 (first using ‘weight’ then using ‘priority’). I set the
Memorized time to 100000 (27 hours) then left the services running for a
day to see the results. All that happens is the first defined server
gets all the traffic. I need to do this again with RC5, but it will take
4 days to do all the combinations.

Suggested Enhancements:
· Provide an option to Rename a Farm – I have been forced to
delete the Farm just to change its name (not great)
· Button to force/test fail over between nodes in the cluster –
useful for testing, but will need a 2nd ‘Are you sure’ button.
· An option to Start All Interfaces and a Start All Farms
button – as they do not appear to start on their own? Starting each one
in turn is ok when you only have a few, but its a little painful.
· When viewing the list of Farms, and hovering the mouse over
the icon of a server with the blue dot, the wording currently says
“Manage the xxx Farm”, where as the button actually shows the STATUS
of the Farm. Can I suggest you re-word this Hover Over element?
· Some clearer documentation on the FarmGuardian – I am
struggling with how to set this up to monitor some standard services eg.
SMTP and an active Web page (looking for a particular word on a Web
page, not just IIS saying hello)

Thanks again for a great product, and I look forward to helping support
its on going development.
