Thanks for your reply, Laura.
I have opened a ticket for that, because although you might have gotten it to
work, it is certainly not recommendable to use duplicate VHIDs in different
clusters. Not something that you should do in a production environment.
I hope they will implement an option to manually configure those things in a
future version, since it is only GUI logic that needs changing.
For now, this workaround (albeit cumbersome) can be used:
1. Download /usr/local/zenloadbalancer/www/content3-3.cgi from one of the
cluster nodes
2. Search file for --vhid=
3. Modify --vhid=, --pass=, and -k (skew) everywhere it occurs with proper
(desired) values
4. Upload file to both cluster nodes and configure cluster as normal

Subject: Re: [Zenloadbalancer-support] CARP config / monitoring
Hi Andreas,
The CARP issue it's a bug or a suggestion?
We've installed 2 Zen clusters in the same subnet without reproducing a CARP
problem in our lab. Have you reproduced a problem in your environment?
Thanks,
Laura.

Dear Zen Community;
I have recently successfully tested Zen as a potential software we want to use
in one of our server farms as a pilot project.
I have just one concern that prevents me from using Zen in a production
environment.
1. CARP vhid / skew / password: Since we have many applications running
and other redundant systems using CARP, we cannot use Zen if it default to vhid
1
This also prevents us from using two zen clusters on the same broadcast domain.
Is there a way (short of modifying by hand every content3-3.cgi file) to change
the CARP config? I don't speak CGI, but is shouldn't be too much work I suppose.
2. Monitoring integration: Is there any way to monitor Zen using SNMP or
Nagios NRPE for farm status, CARP status, etc. ?
Thank you very much for your input!
Sincerely,
Andreas Iwanowski
