Given that all sources are available, you might want to try building it yourself.

- the majority of the "custom code" is built in perl (ie, not compiled, so 64 vs 32bit is really less of an issue)
- rather it is a matter of the Debian version used
- pen is customized source / binary but sources for that are available.

To be honest I'm not certain it really will change performance (SSL or otherwise) but then again the only way to be sure is to give it a whirl.
