Thank you! Actaully, I don't want to determine it this way. All I need to parse out of the config is what type of cluster configuration has been chosen. The actual "who's master" and "are we actually" up will be implemented differently.
I'll make the scripts available on this list when they're finished and working well, including a tutorial on how to install the php5 (I don't speak perl) interpreter and nrpe package, and how to configure it. I'm sure it will be useful to others as well. Most the CARP logic I'm implementing I've used on FreeBSD devices before for scripts, so I really only need to determine from the cluster.conf whether or not I should be master or not. I'll be sure to ask more questions if the need arises, but am helping myself currently with the GUI code, etc. Mit freundlichen Gr??en / With best regards Andreas Iwanowski - IT Administrator / Software Developer www.awato.de<http://www.awato.de> | [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> T: +49 (0)2133 2969 28 | F: +49 (0)2133 2969 69 awato Software GmbH | Salm Reifferscheidt Allee 37 | D-41540 Dormagen avisor-Support | T: +49 (0)621 6094 043 | F: +49 (0)621 6071 447 [awato Software GmbH] [cid:qrCode-2cd668ed-764d-4bd1-be93-bff7f31b6e94d9a28d] Gesch?ftsf?hrer: Ursula Iwanowski | HRB: Neuss 7208 | VAT-no.: DE 122796158 From: Emilio Campos [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2012 9:03 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Zenloadbalancer-support] cluster.conf format TYPECLUSTER:equal:UP The UP value doesn't show that the service is working fine, the UP value shows that the service has to be configured as running, it is a tag used in the start proccess. If you are interested on run your own nagios script to know if your cluster is running fine it's not the value. A possible way is to run a wget to your zen web gui (section cluster) and parse the html output to know that all is working fine. Regards 2012/8/6 Andreas M. Iwanowski <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Dear Zen Support Team, I have a quick question about the cluster.conf format since I'm trying to extract some information from it for a custom nagios monitoring script. The line "TYPECLUSTER:<host1>-<host2>:UP" is what I'm interested in. I want to determine whether the configuration is "Fail back to primary machine" or "Either can be master". The line above is from a system in Master/Slave config (case 1). Since it's production, I can't switch it in the GUI, so I wish to ask here, what does that line look like in case of "Either can be master"?
