Hi We have a farm running two SMTP servers, TCP, port 25, with round robin working well, however, I want one of these servers to take more traffic than the other.
These relays both receive connections from an internal web server and send email outbound so emails originate from the same 2 or 3 IP addresses. I want server1 to take 75% of the traffic and server2 to take 25% however I cannot seem to make either the weighting or the priority work as I expect. I tried setting server1 with a weight of 4 and server2 with a weight of 1 and set the load balancing to "Weight: connection linear dispatching by weight" and it's not load balancing as I expect. Server2 is getting significantly more traffic regardless of how I set these. Is it passing connections from the same IP to the same server each time? Eg IP source persistence? How should I configure the farm to get what I want?
