It is an lx4nat farm for all ports and all protocol types. Majority of the
traffic is HTTPS, but the back-ends are Linux boxes so I can SSH in and do
other things through the load balancer. SSH session(s) do not appear to change
the stats at all.

What profile ? If l4xnat, please configure an l4xnat for some protocol that
keeps opened the connection, like ssh and run some tests
In this section, inside the statistics for the desired farm, now with ssh
client connect to the VIP and once you are logged in, refresh the webpage,
I have made tests for l4xnat and stats seems be working fine.
