Hi, Try $ZENHOME/zensyslog status, it must be running. If not check if your system syslog is running onport 514, if yes disable.
Setup syslog sending to zenoss system. Try logger -p crit test. Event must show up. If not stop zensyslog and start it with $ZENHOME/zensyslog start -v10. Do tail -f $ZENHOME/log/zensyslog.log.
