I have two boxes that aren't collecting.
The community strings are right.
I can't find any errors in zenperfsnmp.log
If I do a "Collect" I get data.. but it doesn't seem to process, or throw any exceptions.

Todd,

So you have only one box with an issue zenperfsnmp issue or are all not collecting? Maybe the community string on one box is wrong in zenoss? Is there any errors in $ZENHOME/log/zenperfsnmp.log?

You were right about that clearing, but now I'm having another problem that seems related to the IP change. Zenoss keeps telling me that the SNMP agent is down via an event.. but the status monitors say it is up. I'm able to snmpwalk both of the machines in question without any difficulty. No changes have been made to the SNMPD.CONF on the box, but I have restarted the deamon. The firewall rules check out (and the snmpwalk should be confirmation of that.)
But.. it's not gathering any performance data.
If I do a fresh collection on the device, it calls setIpAddress on eth0, setTarget with <ip-net/8> on object <ip-net_08> says "processing" for software, storage devices, system info, dell cpu, dell pci, routes, hp cpu info, informant and IP Services.. with no further details, and says "changes applied"

When I do the same with "properly responding" machines, I get an awful lot more data. I'm getting that 'nan' as the only value in my graphs again, but I don't see any performance data to check on. The only RRD's I see are for uptime if I look in the $ZENHOME/perf directory.

Any ideas on this one short of recreating the devices? (That would be a pain in the tooshie, but I will if I have to.)

Todd,
I think the issue here is that zenping only loads its config every 20 mins by default so it can take 20 mins to update to the new ip. You can ack the event and it should clear once the zenping updates its config.

This is hte second time I've run across this.
I had a device that used to have multiple IP addresses that we removed an IP address from.

The devices was initially added to Zenoss with the IP that was removed. After "resetting" the IP of the device from the "Manage" page... all other services show just fine.. but it seems to still be trying to ping the OLD address.. because it shows as down. for PING.
I can manually ping the box from my Zenoss server.

Is this a known bug?
