It can't be admin.  Make a user like zenoss from the zenoss UI.

Can you try the following in zendmd?

login('VALID_ZOPE_USER')
dmd.Monitors.Performance.localhost.getNagiosCmds()


See if you get a better trace from this.

Hum,

Seems like there is a funky (non-ascii) character in the xml-rpc
communication.  We clearly need to get on this its causing lots of
problems!
