-1 in zEventSeverity means use the default severity when the event was received.

There are a few places where severity increases. For example,
threshholds will show greater severity after several sustained
measurements that break the threshhold.

Severity for events is either defaulted to a given level, or modified by
some other configuration. The event mappers can set the severity to
whatever they want.

Bug #283.

I saw the comment for this bug, saying that this feature was removed.
Any plan on restoring/fixing it?

This feature could really slow the ping monitor reload cycle if there were many interfaces so it was removed. What are you trying to do? Ping other IPs on a particular device?
