Taun,

You can add the device by selecting none for the discovery protocol (on device add screen). You can also setup a VPN from the zenoss box net to the remote network and use snmp across it. If SNMP is enabled on the remote boxes it may not be working because of a firewall issue.

I feel like I am missing an obvious answer.

Can zenoss be used to remotely monitor a separate network via ssh, stunnel or vpn? If so, how?

Scenario:
NetworkA - runs zenoss server and database
NetworkB - is somewhere else in internet land and can run zenwin or zenoss full.

How does networkB update networkA server's database?

I am stuck in a catch-22 where I can't add devices on the server because they can't be seen by the server processes. Zenwin can communicate with the server but can't update the server because the devices don't exist in the server database.

I have done google , faqs, and mailing list searches for insight.

Thanks
Taun
