Hi, all. During last weekend i come across Zenoss project site. Readed documentation, download virtual appliance and start testing it in our Lab. Well from my point of view Zenoss looks not so complete and polished but ambitious and interesting.
I would like to participate in Zenoss project. First of all i`m interested in porting it to FreeBSD. After that I will write instruction how to build and install it on thay OS. If more free time will be available maybe I'l write article about Zenoss. Possible it will be published in Russian Sysadmin magazine http://www.samag.ru/. Seems to me, we need to create more verbose and qualitative articles, FAQ and documentation about Zenoss. Thus we will gain bigger user base and more press coverage for Zenoss. Let me introduce myself: 10+ years experience working for largest Russian ISP`s and GSM companies 6 years experience with bunch of commercial and free Unix systems as sysadmin and developer 5 years experience in deployment and operating large scale OSS/BSS systems (HP, IBM, Miscormuse, Cramer) Last four years I was active user, developer and evangelist of different opensource monitoring systems especially Nagios and Zabbix. During that time i have published 9 articles about Nagios and Zabbix in Russian and foreign IT magazines. During 2003-2005 i readed lectures about arcitecture and tendencies in modern proprietary and opensource operational support systems on international exhibition OpenSource Forum Russia", "Linux World Russia", "System administrators IT Engineers Russia". With best regards ----------------- Andrei Y.
