Announcing Zenoss Version 0.23.0
The latest packaged version of Zenoss, Version 0.23.0, is available
for download.
Version 0.23.0 provides many new features and will be the final
release before version 1.0 in the coming weeks.
*There is an important data migration change with performance
collection in this release that is detailed in the release notes as
well as instructions for upgrading the Virtual Appliance.
The following are the major feature enhancements and bug fixes:
* Alerting rules have schedules (to implement on call schedules)
and a report to display all rules.
* Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) release for REL4.x, FC5, Centos 4.x
* Cookie-based login/logout system
* Talkback error handling to allow easy reporting of Zenoss issues
* Support for cacti plugins
* Refactor and unification of Performance Templates with Nagios
Templates
* Support for multiple data points returned from XML-RPC,
Nagios, or Cacti plugins
* Through-the-web management of Zenoss processes
* Automated check for latest software version
* New indexing system based on Dieter Maurer's ManagableIndex
and AdvancedQuery
* Several UI enhancements
* Export/import to file system of Performance Templates in XML
format (So they can be shared)
* Allowance for different language encodings during modeling
* Improved and expanded Admin Guide
