I have an almost-working CentOS 4.4 installation (32bit) via the RPM.
Basic SNMP discovery works fine, but auto-discovery craps out as well as
3 or 4 of the zenoss daemons. 0.23 worked much better for me.

Subject: [zenoss-users] Installing on CentOS

Hi all,

I have several CentOS 4.4 servers, some are i386 and some are x88_64.

I've tried installing Zenoss from both RPM and source on both types
and failed in all cases.

* On the 64-bit boxes, the RPM is useless as the shared objects used
by the various parts of Zenoss simply will not load and pycrypto fails
to find Python.h when attempting to compile from source (even though
other packages have no problem finding it).
* On the 32-bit boxes, the compilation problems are the same but
installing the RPMs gives me an almost working setup - I can log in to
Zenoss but none of the plugins for autodiscovery or monitoring work.

I have tried disabling SELinux, upgrading to Python 2.3.5 (and then
2.4 when that didn't help) and manually editing Makefiles. Any tips
that anyone on the list has would be gratefully received!

Best regards,

Chris
