Thanks for the feedback.
Expect a great deal more - I saw you folks at LISA'06 and am sold on
the product, I just have to get it to work for my architecture!
The only negative things I've experienced on the 64 bit platform relate
to the snmp agents. I have an amd64 box at home, and net-snmp
consistently only returns 1/2 the OID tree.
Aside from the BuildRequires problem, was the x86_64 compile of
zenoss fairly painless? Did you take our source rpm and build a
binary from it, or did you install from source? I assume it's the
former since you noticed the BuildRequires issue...
Actually, I couldn't find your source RPM - Sourceforge doesn't have
it from what I could see, so I used the spec files found within the
tarball.
We didn't publish the .src.rpm to sourceforge in the 1.0.2 release.
That will change in the future.
I just added the 1.0.2 source rpm to sourceforge in case others are
looking to recompile it for 64 bit platforms.
Other than the missing requires, I was able to pull down everything I
needed from RPMForge to get RHEL4 up to spec to compile without issue
- in fact, I didn't even think to check your "deps" tarball until part
way through, and found that I had installed everything in there
anyway. Three false-starts, each for a missing require (and a missing
MySQL-devel-standard), and the fourth build ran without incident, and
started without issue.
Now, if I could just successfully add a device!
I just noticed your new post to the list. Looks like you have a device
added!
