HOW TO SOLVE GRAPHING PROBLEMS ============================== Most of the information in this mail is combination of what you will find in the FAQ, Wiki and Documentation, but I thought i'd couple it together and post it in here, as there seem to be a lot of questions asked about this topic.
No Graphs Appear ---------------- Not to be mistaken with blank graphs, this sometimes occurs when you've added a device (either manually or via auto-discovery) and there are no graphs appearing at all on the 'Perf' tab for the device. The only thing you may see are the headings of CPU, Paging etc. and spaces where the graphs should be. The most common way of solving this problem is to change directory to switch to the user that Zenoss is running under (usually this is 'zenoss') $ su zenoss And then change directory to the zenoss bin directory, located in the Zenoss home directory. To find out exactly where the Zenoss home directory is located type: $ echo $ZENHOME This will only return a value when logged on as the Zenoss user. Next you will need run the following command: zenperfsnmp run -d xxx.xxx.xxx -v10 Where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the name of the device. Graphs Exist Without Data ------------------------- In this case, the graphs are produced and are available when you click on the 'Perf' tab, but they contain no data. Often the values show 'nan'. In most cases, the data simply hasn't been collected yet, wait about 30 minutes and refresh the screen to see if that has made any difference. If data still does not appear, you should navigate to /About in the Zenoss interface and restart the collectors zenperfsnmp, zenprocess and zencommand one at a time, you should see that graphs now have values associated with them.
