Did you tar $ZENHOME before starting the upgrade? If so then
restoring from that is pretty easy. The backup from 2 night ago that
you mentioned - is that a tar of $ZENHOME or is it a backup file from
zenbackup.py?

Lol - sorry Dennis. I'm trying to do too many things at once :-)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] zenossinst]$ echo $PYTHONPATH
/opt/zenoss/lib/python
That's correct the correct path.
Something is obviously wrong with the python/zope/zenoss setup, but
I'm out of ideas right now. You might also check that there isn't a
stray reference to python 2.3 around somewhere (like maybe /usr/bin/
python.) Other than that you're best bet is probably to revert back
to your previous install for the moment. We're still coping with
some of the fallout of upgrading to zope 2.10 and python 2.4.
This is a FC5 box and so I think it's always been python 2.4.
It occurs to me that zenbackup.py isn't going to work any better for
you than any of the other zenoss components probably. If you want to
try a clean install I can give you instructions for doing so without
zenbackup.py.
If you could, I'd appreciate it. I'll probably have to try and
restore from 2 nights ago backup
