The configuration of many services can be accomplished through the Device Classes, thereby affecting lots of devices at once. You can load devices in great detail using the xml loader.

Yeah, I saw this as a posibility. Not sure how you would specify which services require monitoring though?

Hi,

We have a database full of servers that require HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3,
DNS monitoring, or a combination of the above. We are migrating from
Nagios, and have custom scripts which take the SQL database full of
server IP's and service requirements, and build the nagios file
according to this.

We need to create a script similiar for Zenoss. I therefore need
suggestions for not only adding the device to Zenoss, but then enabling
the required service monitoring - we simply cannot afford to do this
manually, and can't find a documented way of automating it.

Is there a way to do this over the cmd line, or similiar?

Cheers

Rob
