By default zenoss has 1 performance monitor and one status monitor.
I wanted to create a performance monitor that will be just for my
NetApps and have the snmp cycle down to every 30 or 60 seconds instead
of the default 300 seconds.

I created the monitor but zenperfsnmp does not collect data on that
monitor since its now in the zenperfsmp conf file.

I know how to get this working my way.

Step 1

create new performance monitor

Step 2

I copied over bin/zenperfsnmp to bin/zenperfsnmp_netapp
contents of zenpersnmp_netapp

(I changed PRGNAMe and CFGFILE)

PRGHOME=$ZENHOME/Products/ZenRRD
PRGNAME=zenperfsnmp_netapp.py
CFGFILE=$CFGDIR/zenperfsnmp_netapp.conf
PIDFILE=$VARDIR/$PRGNAME.pid

Step 3
(not necessary but just for making everything look alike I did this)

then for /Products/ZenRRD/zenperfsnmp.py i just mad another copy if it
and renamed it to zenperfsnmp_netapp.py

Step 4
then in /bin/zenoss I added zenperfsnmp_netapp under zenperfsnmp

C="$C zenperfsnmp
C="$C zenperfsnmp_netapp"

step 5

copy over etc/zenperfsnmp.conf to etc/zenperfsnmp_netapp.conf

monitor         NetApp

Step 6

restart zenoss

Step 7 add NetApps to the NetApp performance monitor

Now I'm collecting snmp data every 30 seconds only on the netapps.

I know the Docs say I can have another performance monitor on another zenoss
server but I did not need that.
Is there another way to doing this? Maybe my way is not the correct way but it
works!
let me know what I should have done or could have done or if my way is just
fine.

All input is welcome, thanks in advance!
