I just wonder if someone could clear something up for me.
Recently, one of our servers has started producing a 'Logical Disk Time
Performance Failed' error message and an associated SNMP trap. What I got in
email from Zenoss was;
"snmp trap 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.0.19008 from 10.0.175.3"
So I decided to find and install the correct MIB to at least get a human
readbale message back, instead of the trap number. I found out that the OID is
found in a Compaq MIB (CPQOS-MIB) which in turn uses the CPQHOST-MIB. So, I
obtain both of the files, pop them into /opt/zenoss/share/mibs/site/ and then
my problems start...
Firstly, I run; zenmib run CPQHOST-MIB and that imports with no errors, then, I
try to import CPQOS-MIB; zenmib run CPQOS-MIB and I get
INFO:zen.zenmib:Skipping file /opt/zenoss/share/mibs/irtf/IRTF-NMRG-SMING-TYPES
INFO:zen.zenmib:Skipping file /opt/zenoss/share/mibs/irtf/IRTF-NMRG-SMING
INFO:zen.zenmib:Skipping file
/opt/zenoss/share/mibs/irtf/IRTF-NMRG-SMING-EXTENSIONS
INFO:zen.zenmib:Unable to find a file providing the MIB CPQHOST-MIB
INFO:zen.zenmib:Unable to find a file providing the MIB CPQHOST-MIB
INFO:zen.zenmib:Loaded mib CPQOS-MIB
Now, they are both loaded into the MIBS section of Zenoss, but obviously zenmib
doesn't seem to be able to find a particular file to provide the MIB,
eventhough it's in the same directory.. So my question is simple, why can't
zenmib find it? Is it looking in a different directory? is it looking a file
called named CPQHOST-MIB or does it look at the name of the definition within
the file?
You need to run: zenmib run CPQHOST-MIB CPQOS-MIB
