I've got a couple dozen servers being monitored with Zenoss - Linux Debian & Ubuntu, Win2K, and Win2K3. Even though I installed the snmpd software on all of them in the same way (specific to their OS) - i'm finding that there are data inconsistencies on the Perf and other data. For instance, why is it that on some win2K servers, it will show disk utilization. Same with some linux boxes too. Also, some servers have great perf graphs while others have nothing. Is this a function of the hardware? I'm still learning about SNMP stuff, so any help is appreciated. Also, I've found few books on the subject. What's a good primer on SNMP overall?
