Hello,
After many hours trying to decipher an EMC MIB (for Clariion
disc arrays) I started to wonder whether anybody else has gone
though this nightmare before, and is there an archive anywhere
of the various templates/trap transforms that people have
written to extract some useful information from SNMP.
I realise that the graphs and traps people are interested in
might not be the same in every case but it would be useful to
have some of the more common ones available (e.g. UPS
monitoring battery time left, disc arrays trapping on disc
failure, temp/humidity probes, etc) as a template that can
be imported and then modified locally.
Of course later Zenoss will solve all this in the grand
ZenModel (ZenModelofEverything?), but until that glorious
day a quick hack archive might be useful ?.
regards,
Richard
p.s.
For anybody searching in the future to solve the same problem,
(parsing SNMP traps for Dell/EMC Clariion disc arrays), there is
no MIB, the best guide I can find to the OIDs is in an engineering
white paper called 'Managing CLARiiON with SNMP'.
