Looks like you downloaded the incorrect deps tarball. Can you
confirm that you downloaded the one for FC6? And can you confirm the
filenames inside that tarball? I don't believe they should contain
el4 (Enterprise Linux 4). They should be noarch or fc6 iirc.

Some Googling showed that the error has been solved for other
applications by updating the system. Since I keep this machine
fairly up to date I didn't think that was the problem, but I ran a
yum update anyway. I grabbed about 10 packages - none related to
MySQL.
MySQL is installed and functioning - in case that helps. Does any
one have any ideas?
