I haven't decided wether to log a ticket about this yet, mostly because i'm
unsure of the circumstances. I run a few servers that host webpages on Apache
virtual hosts. To better give an understanding one server has its default page
at its regular nameand Zenoss finds port 80 just fine. The same server also
runs a virtual host on port 8001. Another server defaults to a virtual host
page on port 80. These are all up and open for anyone to connect to them from
anywhere. Now Zenoss won't find port 8001 on the first server nor will it find
the default port 80 on the other server. However if apache is stopped and
netcat is set to listen on the same port as the virtual host then Zenoss will
find the port. Is there any good way to get around this problem or should I
just log the ticket for future refrence? I have already tried adding the
virtual host names as devices to no avail.
