Since I know diddly about MySQL and not a whoel lot about Zenoss yet... anyone
have a clue whats goin on here?

ZenBackendFailure: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111)")
2007-03-27 14:05:57 ERROR zen.ZenXEvent: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server

I ask because both, I dont quite understand why Zenoss can't communicate with
MySQL... and I have some weird issue with Zenoss losing comms with about 3/4 of
a dozen of my devices...

At 8:13a 5 diff Cisco devices went down (ping), at 8:14a they all came back up.
Then at 12:56p the same group including both AD servers went down, at 1:01p
they all came back up. Lastly just now at 3:55p they all went down and came
back up at 3:56p.

Not a single device lost power.. but whats really weird is that if there was
some mass loss of network connectivity why didnt the other 60+ devices drop as
well? Also I cannot think of any one thing these devices have in common..most
are at my location however an Ironpoint router and 1 of the AD boxes is in
Michigan, then an AD box in Arizona were among the dumped devices.

Now in the Zenping logs, the last block of entries start off with:

2007-04-03 15:38:41 CRITICAL zen.ZenPing: ZenPing 'localhost' not
found,ignoring network topology.

Foloowed by every other device and "not found in topology".. could this be
indicative of a hardware issue? I ask because this Netvista is not verified
100% working hardware. I found it unused in a storage closet and went for it.

TIA!
