I've got Zenoss running and monitoring a couple dozen devices. I have 2
questions that are probably trivial but for the life of me I haven't be able to
find a clear answer.

I added a windows server that is running a web server, a mail server, and
several other services and all of those show up in the OS tab. Everything is
showing up great.

The server where zenoss is installed is Linux and though port 8080 shows up as
a service (the port zenoss is running on) port 80 does not show up when it
should be. JBoss is running on port 80. Additionally I have a half dozen
other machines with JBoss instances running on ports 8080 and 80. On all of
these machines neither of these ports show up in the OS tab of the devices.

I have monitoring enabled for http and 8080 in /Services, I have tried
restarting every daemon in the about section multiple times (and the logs look
clean), and I have tried using the Manage->Collect Configuration many times. I
let Zenoss run on the machine for 24 hours and checked back this morning to
find no new services in the OS tabs. For these machines smtp, postgresql, and
the other expected services show up but not services running on 80, 88 (apache
on a few of them), or 8080.

Is there a way to just force zenoss to monitor a port? If not, how do I allow
these services to be monitored? I don't understand why some show up while
others don't or why http shows up on the windows server but not the linux
servers.

Thanks,

Joe
