You can monitor processes via SNMP so long as the snmp agent is exporting them to clients.

Go to Processes and add a regex for your process. Then remodel your device and you should see a process.

Lastly, restart zenprocess and you should start seeing cpu and memory information;.

Hi All,

with regards to process monitoring in Zenoss: Is it merely possible to monitor daemons like httpd via Zenoss or is there a equivalent to the ps command line tool from Linux?

The thing is that we have a couple of infrastructure components here (like hsqldb and Cruisecontrol) which we would like to monitor but which have no daemons of their own. The manual procedure would be to do a ps -auxw | grep hsqldb and see if the process is running.

Moreover, is it possible to have Zenoss run scripts on the machine to be monitored and to check via these scripts if a specific service is still alive'?

Thanks in advance for you replies.

Best regards,

Markus
