I am trying to get Zenoss installed on Ubuntu Server 7.04, and am having some
problems....I've followed the updated document linked to explicity, and am
getting the following error:

Hunk #1 succeeded at 315 (offset -20 lines).
unpacking pycrypto-1.9a6 in build/
installing pycrypto
installing twisted
installing twistedsnmp
making zensocket
Password:
make: *** [zensocket-install] Error 2
unable to build zenoss and prerequisites, see zenbuild.log

I did not setup any passwords for mysql root user, and currently have the
zenoss user using password of zenoss...which is what I put into the Password
prompt above.

The following lare the last few lines of the log file:

Writing /usr/local/zenoss/lib/python/TwistedSNMP-0.3.13.egg-info
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/zenoss/zenoss-install/zensocket'
gcc -o zensocket -Wall -pedantic -D__GNU_LIBRARY__ -g zensocket.c
sudo rm -f //usr/local/zenoss/bin/zensocket
Sorry, user zenoss is not allowed to execute '/bin/rm -f //usr/local/zenoss/bin
make[1]: *** [//usr/local/zenoss/bin/zensocket] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/zenoss/zenoss-install/zensocket'

As I mentioned, I followed the instructions at:
http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/browser/trunk/inst/docs/INSTALL_UBUNTU704.txt
exactly.

Only thing I wasn't positive about, was since the original Ubuntu install
instructions stated to install the LAMP server during the install, and these
don't (but do have the upgrades via apt)...I didn't install LAMP during the
install.

Any suggestions?

btw - I've used Nagios before with Groundwork, but want to give Zenoss a try as
it looks perhaps a little more polished. :)
