This will be fixed in the new appliance it was a bug with python 2.4.1 we upgraded to 2.4.3. Unfortunately we are having an issue with the rbuilder site right now so the 1.9.6 appliance will be out later today or tomorrow as Drew mentioned in the announce email.

Hello,

I've got the beta up and running with the same config I had previously used with a standalone ZenWin server. I am getting the following as an event:

Wmi error talking to <server name>: bad format char passed to Py_BuildValue

Zenoss is picking up a service list when I add Windows servers but it is not logging events or properly seeing stopped services.

My zenwinmodeler.log looks similar to:

2007-05-17 11:33:46 ERROR zen.zenwinmodeler: devices [(1179252344.5594561, 'ad01', u'domain\\account', u'password', 2, 'zport/dmd/Devices/Server/Windows/devices/ad01'), (1179252351.081234, 'ad02', u'domain\\account', u'password', 2, 'zport/dmd/Devices/Server/Windows/devices/ad02'), (1179252356.700891, 'ad03', u'domain\\account', u'password', 2, 'zport/dmd/Devices/Server/Windows/devices/ad03')]

My password is complex and contains uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols - just in case this is some kind of formatting issue.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Regards,
Kevin
