I ran into the same issue. You're using the appliance installation, right? If so, the version of Python in the appliance install is a few versions behind. What you're probably seeing is a bug in Python that was fixed as of 2.4.3. The version of Python in the appliance install is 2.4.1.
You can either try to upgrade python on the appliance or wait for a newer release. A bug report for this was filed earlier this week.
