First, i'd like to extend my thanks to the developers of zenoss, great product. Coming form nagios, i appreciate the polish it has :)
But onto my issues. I started out with zenoss 1.1.2 and had to upgrade to the latest beta to try to solve some of my issues. 1. host when deleted, still stick around. after deleting a duplicate host, i still see their events, and after moving their events to their history, i still see them. they have no link, and i've verified that their object doesnt show on the host list, so am confused why this would happen. this is happening with the host that is running zenoss. i renamed it, and still see the events under host, but not under its new name, host.domain. This is the main reason i upgraded, i was having an issue in which zenping and zenperfsnmpd would not run after i deleted a radom host, complaining about a missing key " which was this host" 2. snmp down , when it isnt. zen is reporting some hosts have their snmp down, even though i can do an snmp walk right from zenoss.. odd? they were working, and then stopped after a zendisc run.. but the snmp walk works from the web front end, just that when i do a discover, either from command line or web front end, i see no snmp plugins found. 3. related to the deleted/renamed host problem sent it quote for orders already, he's getting back to me.. on a side note about the [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ zendisc run -d otherhost --remodel INFO:zen.ZenDisc:my hostname = host.domain.com INFO:zen.ZenDisc:my ip = 10.100.1.172 INFO:zen.ZenDisc:ip '10.100.1.172' on device 'host.domain.com' remodel WARNING:zen.ZenDisc:Ip 10.100.1.172 exists on snmp discover of self 'host.domian.com' failed [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ if i dont use the --remodel option, i dont get this error, but host was the original name of the zenoss monitoring host, that deleted, and added host.domain.com any help would be greatly appreciated -Javier Frias _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
