There has previously been posts to the forums regarding server performance
related to zenperfsnmp and the number of .rrd files but I'm now trying to
determine if there is a similar way to determine server sizing/performance when
syslog type events are thrown into the mix.

We have a fairly large syslog stream and are looking at Splunk as a solution
but I think Zenoss can fill this need as well and the fewer tools I need to
implement the better.

Can anyone suggest performance modeling related to receiving syslog events
within Zenoss?
