Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I've recently installed the Zenoss
Virtual Appliance for VMware. The install was very easy, thankfully, since I'm
not really much good with Linux. It's working very well, and I am monitoring a
number of Windows servers using SNMP. However, I am having to touch each box as
I install SNMP, as the Windows CD is required when you install it. Of course
this is a hassle. I would like to use WMI instead, which seems to be enabled by
default on most of the servers on my network. I'd like to discover devices
using WMI, but I can't seem to make it work. I saw a post which said that the
newest version (1.9.something?) is easier to use with WMI, but I have 1.1.2,
which is what comes with the virtual appliance.

So, my question is, can I upgrade the virtual appliance to the newest version?
Or, is there an easy way to get WMI monitoring working on my current
installation?

Please keep in mind that I am a Linux newbie, so if you want me to use the
command line, please tell me in detail what to do. Be gentle!

Thanks.
