Hello, I am saying this for people that found the same problem...
RHEL4/CentOS 4 When you runs mysqld for first time it shows: > PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER ! > To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands: > /usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password' > /usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h zenoss.globalred.local password 'new-password' > See the manual for more instructions. I was setting the password anytime and after I couldn't run zenoss because a mysql user/password problem.
