What are the permissions on the install directory (not the zenoss home directory)?
You should be running the install.sh script as the zenoss user from in the install directory, and most likely that user does not have permissions to write to the directory that you're installing from. also in regards to the the 6 questions below--the suggested answers are in the brackets. If you press the enter key without making a change, that answer will be used. 1--localhost 2--root 3--**no password** Make sure that your MySQL root password is blank temporarily--you can go back and change it later. 4--events 5--zenoss(not the MySQL root user, but the user that zenoss will use to connect to the databases that it's using) 6--zenoss (you can change this if you'd like.) Wade PS--i'm new to zenoss too, and have had a few problems with the install as well, so if these answers are incorrect, people of the community, please feel free to smack me around. ------------------------ Wade Grimes -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=6983#6983 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
