Hi Ian, Eric Newton replied in this thread http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2222 that downloading the latest version of SWIG would do the trick. It certainly appears to have been successful for geotek.
If you do download the latest SWIG, you'll almost certainly also have to 'make clean' to remove all the built files.
