Sorry, I just realized you were installing on Dapper. The installation is the same, except you don't need to do the Python 2.5 symlink switching step, since Dapper's still on 2.4.

I just did this a couple days ago. IIRC, I think that zenbuild.log will indicate that swig isn't installed. Try an:

apt-get install swig

and then give the install another shot.
