Anyone having this problem (rrdtool references in $ZENHOME/log/event.log) try the following steps:
1. Switch to the zenoss user. 2. zopectl stop 3. rm $ZENHOME/Products/ZenRRD/RenderServer.pyc 4. zopectl start 5. Try to view your graphs again.
