By browsing the source code of Zenoss, I found out that Zenoss is capable of
producing loads of useful debugging logs, if the log level is set accordingly.
This is very useful for figuring out what is going on behind the scenes, e.g.
why the result of a SSH command is not graphing.
However, there is no documentation on this, not even on where the log files are
(though they're not hard to find :-)), let alone how to activate debugging.
I found that I can activate debugging for a daemon by adding the parameter "-v
10" in its startup script (under $ZENHOME/bin/ ).
What is the recommended way to activate debugging?
Is it possible without restarting Zenoss?
Maybe you'd consider adding some of this to the admin guide? At least
Location of logfiles, brief summary of what is logged where
How to enable/disable debugging
Maybe some specifig hints, e.g. "How can I log the results returned by
a ZenCommand?"
