OK I have looked at this quite a lot to make sure I'm not being too dim
(Although it's not out of the question). I am monitoring two Windows servers
and an HP switch for testing. Zenoss is picking up events, and they appear in
the dashboard no problem. I have setup an alerting rule that is set to true
that has the filters:

Production state = Production (Which it is on all devices)
Severity >= info
Event state = New

Action set to email, and my email address is put in to the address (optional)
field. When I turn off a server that is running, the alert happens on the dash,
but I do not get an email. If I click the test button next to the email field,
I get an email, so I assume the email mechanism is OK.

I am using Zenoss 2.0.0 on Ubuntu Server 7.04. The email is exim4. I can send
email via the command line as well. I am logged into Zenoss as the admin, and
have no schedule set up on the alerting rules, and have no administered object.

Any help is fantastically appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ben
