I had this same issue when first setting up zenoss and WMI. If i put in the ip address of the server zenoss would resolve to the short server name (servername). it would inventory everything, but WMI would not work correctly. I was getting the same error that you see. I was not able to get zenoss to correctly do WMI until i renamed the servers on the console to match the FQDN. (servername.domain.local) once i changed the name and gave it some time it worked fine for multiple servers. If the server was not in DNS editing the hosts file on the Zenoss box was enough. It seemed that WMI likes the long version of the servername in my case anyway. The zenoss server is also pointing to our internal DNS Active Directory servers as well.
I was able to make it work with 2 different accounts as well. I have a couple of servers not in the domain so using the .\administrator as the account name under zproperties worked. (i created a separate group for these servers). Just an idea, but i pulled my hair out for a couple of days before i noticed the behavior above. ------------------------ TerryT -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8579#8579 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
