Hi There. I am curious if anybody has device dependencies working 2.x? I am of the understanding that Zenoss builds this tree automatically based on routing information. So say I have a zenoss monitoring server, that is accessing servers through Router A with servers B,C,D behind it.
I Have zenoss setup to monitor Router A, and servers B,C,D. However, if Router A goes down, I am getting alerted for not only Router A but also servers B,C,D, where as I only want to be notified about Router A. In my particular case, Router A, is a Cisco PIX 515e - which just so happens to not give out its routing table through snmp ( Security "Feature" ). This basically made it impossible for me to use dependencies under 1.x, as there was no way of inputting routes manually in 1.x. I have moved up to 2.x however now and I have inputted all the routes manually into Zenoss for that device and still no luck. I;ve also tried doing this with a different router that zenoss actually can collect the route data from itself, but I just can;t seem to get it to work. I;m wondering if this is just something that hasn;t been implemented in 2.x yet, or if I;m doing something totally wrong? -- Matt ------------------------ Matt Watson -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8703#8703 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
