The time datapoints are the number of seconds taken to conduct the
http check or dns lookup.
I've added a ticket to add example templates to both DnsMonitor and
HttpMonitor:
http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/1849
and a ticket for documentation:

I have recently installed the DNS and the HTTP ZenPacks. As has
been pointed out before, there is not much documentation on them
yet. Thats alright. It is a new feature and I am sure that docs
are in the works. Fortunatally I found a post on the forum that
talked about what to do next (add them as a data source in the
template).
So far so good.
Now my question is, how do you find out what else a ZenPack may
have added and, what the specific data sources mean? Is there a
part of the ZenPack structure that could include documentation?
For example, on these two ZenPacks there is a datapoint called
"Time". I am not sure what time this is. And on the HTTP monitor
there is a point called size...again, packet size? last transfer
size? Size of a coconut shell that a sparrow could carry (if this
is correct I would further need to know what type of sparrow.)
Any light you could shed on these two specific packs would be of
great help but, also, (and this may be more for the -developers
list) is there a documentation standard for these packs?
Thanks;
James
