Sorry. I didn't answer the question directly because the answer depends. I thought I gave the various scenarios and subsequent necessary setup in my previous message.

To clarify: if all you want is uptime and IP services monitoring (by which ZenOSS means SMTP/HTTP/etc) then setting up SNMP on the clients such that the ZenOSS server can read all the OIDs from the machine (no write access necessary) then that is the only needed change.

If you want service/daemon monitoring on linux or windows or CPU/Memory monitoring on windows, additional changes would be necessary as previously discussed.
