Sorry for replying to my own post. My original google searches appear to
have been too specific. This appears to be a known issue with the
net-snmp-5.1.2 packages. Upgrading to the net-snmp-5.3 package (after
removing net-snmp-utils) seems to have resolved the issue. Apparently,
ifInOctetes and ifOutOctets for systems with long uptimes hit this often
as well.
