If zenoss can't get RFC1213-MIB:ifTable entries from snmp on the device, then it can't construct the ipInterface objects which are required to link the ipAddress to the Device. In my experience, the most common reason for this is restrictive default net-snmp configurations; it seems that many are configured to allow access only to the system subtree, which gets you sysName.
You probably need to go and open up snmp access on those devices. How to do so, and how much to open it up, is left as an exercise for the reader. Very strange sometimes it works and others it doesn't. I have even tried adding devices manually. They never show up in the network but they graph and monitor otherwise just fine -- David Carmean Network Appliance, Inc Infosystems Architect, 495 E.
