I'm currently running InMon for sflow aggregation, and am working on just this. I've already got a simple script written that pulls all stored host data and adds those devices to zenoss via XMLRPC calls.
I think its going to be more work than its worth just writing a template/checks for pulling traffic data, and probably not worth the trouble when that is all available via SNMP performance monitors. Detailed traffic/protocol info is what I see as more useful (probably what you're thiinking as well), and since inmon has a fairly good data-retrieval facility (unfortunately via javascript) I'm going this route. Since Zenpack creation and export seems thoroughly broken right now, I'm putting this off for a while, but will post details once I'm done. /eli PS - nTop can also be used and is free, but I've always had issues with functionality of their sflow support as well as stability. Has several API's to access data however which is nice. /eli -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: General discussion of using zenoss system <[email protected]> Sent: Fri Aug 10 10:55:19 2007 Subject: [zenoss-users] sFlow support? Is anyone getting sFlow (http://www.sflow.org) data into Zenoss for historical data and alerting etc...? If so, how are you doing that? Anyone have any ZenPacks or howtos? -- James Pulver Information Technology Area Supervisor LEPP Computer Group Cornell University _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
