Is it possible to set a data point as counter, but to get only the difference, and not get it divided in by the time cycle in seconds? I am trying to get the 404 counts out of logs fopr every 5 minutes, and I want to get only the difference, not the rate per say.

Marc,

I'm not quite sure how you're accessing this information, or what is producing it. There are basically three different types of data points you can store in the RRD files. GAUGE, COUNTER and ABSOLUTE. You can read more about the differences between these types at http:// oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/doc/rrdcreate.en.html. Between the three of them, I'm quite sure you'll find one that covers your scenario.

You set these on the data point within your data source within your performance template.
