Special characters in softwares/services names will probably cause this error so my guess is that this issue will raise again if you reinstall your Zenoss box from scratch and remodel the culprit devices...
To zenoss devs: this bug makes Zenoss unusable for non UK/US boxes, could you please take a look ?
